About the author

John G. O’Dwyer is a travel consultant from Thurles, Co. Tipperary who is a regular contributor to The Irish Times. A keen hillwalker and rock climber, he founded the Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers Club and has almost 30 years’ experience leading hillwalking and mountain-climbing groups in Ireland, the UK, Europe and Africa.

John G. O’Dwyer has previously published Wild Stories from the Irish Uplands (2018) and an older edition of 50 Best Irish Walks (2022)
